When Leadership Training Meets Podcasting, Darren Made It Click

Turning Deep Knowledge into Engaging Content
Dan Boniface and Darren Draper know their subject inside out. While working at Media First, Darren Wingham helped them move from the classroom to the podcast studio, so their expertise could reach even more people.
Sound Leadership is the podcast from BCF Group, designed to support managers and leaders with real-world insights. It’s hosted by Dan Boniface and Darren Draper, two trainers who’ve spent years working face-to-face with leaders in classrooms and workshops. Their strength is clear: they know their subject matter better than anyone.
The challenge? Training in a classroom is one thing, but a podcast is a different world. For the content to land, it needs flow, warmth, and an inviting format that makes people want to hit play.
The Brief
The Sound Leadership team wanted to grow their impact by reaching new audiences through podcasting. Their ask to us was simple but vital: take what works in the classroom and transform it into an audio experience that feels natural, structured, and engaging for listeners.
How Darren helped
Structuring the content:
During his time at Media First (part of the BCF Group), Darren Wingham drew on his 20-year background in radio programming and decades of video production to build a format that flows and engages.
Working closely with Dan Boniface and Darren Draper, the team reshaped existing training material into podcast-friendly conversations that listeners actually want to spend time with.
Studio & production:
While employed at Media First, Darren designed and set up a multi-camera studio with broadcast-quality audio. That gives a podcast looks every bit as good as it sounds.
Guiding the tone:
By keeping things conversational and “chat-led,” Darren helped the presenters relax and find their natural rhythm, so their expertise came through clearly without sounding scripted or stiff.
Guest handling:
The result? A format that’s quickly attracting high-profile guests. This proves that when the structure and tone are right, the content takes care of itself.
The Finished Podcast
The result is a growing series that feels warm, credible, and professional. For listeners, it’s an easy way to pick up leadership lessons on the go. For the Sound Leadership team, it’s proof that their knowledge can work just as powerfully in audio as it does in the classroom.
And with every episode now showcased on the Sound Leadership promo page, the podcast has become a key channel for BCF Group to demonstrate thought leadership and attract new audiences.
At WIDEO.co.uk, we now apply that same approach to help businesses and trainers turn their expertise into engaging podcast and video content — whether filmed in our own studios or recorded remotely.
