When Equality Training Needed Impact, We Held Up a Mirror
A drama-led film with Josette Simon OBE that reflects everyday bias back to learners—making equality feel human, not preachy.
A powerful film using drama and reflection to bring inclusion training to life without preaching.
ted Learning is a drama-based training company specialising in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), leadership, and workplace culture. For this project, they wanted to create a short film that would spark honest reflection among learners while aligning with the Equality Act. To elevate the production, they worked with Josette Simon OBE, an acclaimed British actor with stage and screen credits spanning decades.

The Brief
The challenge was to make EDI training engaging and thought-provoking without feeling like a lecture. The aim was to take a familiar scenario, where names not instantly recognised in the UK can be mishandled or dismissed, and flip it, holding up a mirror to everyday behaviour in a way that encouraged reflection and change.
How WIDEO.co.uk helped
We handled filming, direction, and post-production, ensuring Josette’s performance carried maximum weight while keeping the storytelling tight and relatable. Our role was also to capture the nuance—framing the message in a way that felt human and real. Instead of preaching, the film created a safe space for learners to recognise themselves in the scenario and consider how to do better.
The Finished Video
The final piece is more than just training—it’s a conversation starter. By combining the authority of Josette Simon OBE with drama-based storytelling, the film challenged assumptions and gave learners a powerful reminder: inclusion isn’t about policies, it’s about everyday actions.
