Hi, I’m Darren.

I’ve spent years working across radio, photography, video production, drama-based learning, corporate communications and presentation training. At WIDEO.co.uk, I bring all of that together to create videos, podcasts and live streams that feel human and actually work for the people watching or listening.

I started in radio, including two years at Capital Radio in London. Radio teaches you quickly that every word counts. It trains you to listen properly, hear the story underneath the noise, and ask the question that unlocks the good stuff. That editorial instinct never left me. Make it simple. Make it land. Make it worth saying.

Photography sharpened my eye. Weddings taught me discipline because there are no retakes. Corporate work taught me how to handle people, pressure and brand sensitivity. Video production became the place where sound, picture and story finally met, and where I could help teams turn jargon into something people actually want to watch.

In learning and development, I directed drama designed to change behaviour, not tick boxes. That work taught me how pacing, performance and truth make training stick. In media training, I worked on spokesperson projects for corporate and public-sector organisations, helping leaders handle tough questions and high-pressure situations. Over the years, the organisations I have supported include companies representing around 40 percent of the FTSE 100. In those moments, clarity and calm really matter.

I’ve coached radio presenters and podcast hosts, as well as business leaders and first-timers who have never been near a camera or microphone. From “I do this for a living” to “I’m terrified”, I meet people where they are. Breath, pace, energy, emphasis. Editing the script so it sounds like you. Helping you bring the audience with you.

On set, I keep things calm and professional. In the studio, I warm people up, help them find their voice, and support them in saying the important thing like a human.

Over time, I’ve built a trusted collective of experienced media professionals I bring in when the brief needs it. Presenters, actors, writers, camera operators, sound recordists, designers, animators and editors. We scale the team to the job, match the skills to the brief, keep overheads lean and quality high. You always have one clear point of contact. Me.

That’s WIDEO.co.uk. Part producer, part director, part editor, and completely obsessed with clarity. I dig into the brief, challenge assumptions politely, and find the simplest route to a result you are proud to put your name to. In the edit, I am ruthless about flow, rhythm and the moments that make people care.

You won’t get fluff. You won’t get drama unless you ask for it. You won’t get a “that’ll do” cut. You will get a partner who can guide professionals and complete beginners, help subject-matter experts sound like humans, and turn long meetings into short, sharp stories.

If you want honest advice, a clear process and content your audience actually watches, let’s talk.
